According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Ousmane Dembele is closing in on a new deal that’ll see him stay at Barcelona.
While the terms of the deal would be “reduced”, likely due to the financial constraints the club are currently having to endure, it will ensure he stays at the club until 2024.
The fact that Dembele has a tendency to be a bit hot and cold at times will obviously serve as a worry but beyond that, most supporters will probably just be happy to see the club keep hold of a big name.
A parade of stars such as Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann have gone on their merry way in recent times and if they want to avoid crumbling entirely, they need to maintain a somewhat cohesive first team squad full of players who can fire Barca back into the Champions League discussion.
Dembele isn’t the catalyst behind that, but it’s a start.
