Liverpool’s new signing, Jeremy Jacquet, has sustained a severe shoulder injury, so says Rennes coach Habib Beye.
Jacquet signed for Liverpool on Monday in a deal reportedly worth £60m (€69.5m).
The 20-year-old will join ahead of next season.
However, he may now face a long spell on the sidelines after he fell awkwardly in Rennes’ 3-1 defeat to Ligue 1 leaders Lens on Saturday.

“For Jeremy, it’s his shoulder,” Rennes coach Beye told reporters, with Jacquet having looked in severe pain when he left the field.
“We’ll have time to see, but it’s definitely quite serious.”
Jacquet has featured 19 times in Ligue 1 this season, and Liverpool fought off competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea to sign the France youth international.
