Nice failed in Winks loan approach

Nice failed in a loan approach for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks last season, according to the Mail Online.

The twenty-one year old was subject to an ambitious bid from the Ligue 1 outfit last term though Mauricio Pochettino kept faith and blooded him in the first team where he went on to make thirty-three appearances in all competitions with his one and only goal for the club coming in a 3-2 win over West Ham United last November.

He has also played seven times for the North London club this season with his form leading to recognition from England boss Gareth Southgate who drafted him in to his squad for their recent internationals.

Winks impressed as he made his senior international debut with Southgate’s men beating Lithuania in their final World Cup qualification match on Sunday evening with the Three Lions’ place in Russia for next summer already assured.
