According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are not planning on replacing manager Quique Setien with club legend Xavi despite losing the La Liga title to Real Madrid this season.

Xavi, who has spent the last few years of his career over in Qatar, has been heavily linked with a return to the Nou Camp in recent weeks. However, the reportedly toxic atmosphere around the club right now has ensured that any talk of a return for the iconic midfielder is being put to one side for now.

There’s clearly a whole lot of work that needs to be done in order to try and bring Barca back from the brink, and deciding what to do with Setien is going to be one of the most important decisions of all. Perhaps getting rid of him isn’t the smartest move, but if they did, you just know that the fans would get behind someone like Xavi in a big way.
