Celta star player Nolito has been the subject of intense transfer speculation linking him with move away from Vigo in the January transfer window.

Contrasting to the claims from Spanish newspaper Sport earlier this week that Barcelona had agreed to meet Nolito’s £13 million fee, such rumours have been denied by Celta Vigo manager Eduardo Berizzo.

Berizzo is aware of Luis Enrique’s desire to bring Nolito back to Camp Nou, but he had not heard anything about a January deal.

Transfer speculation have also been refuted by player himself, who told the Spanish radio station Cadena Cope that he had no intention of leaving Celta at this time.

“I am very happy in Vigo and I hope to stay here for many more years”, said Nolito.

The 29-year-old Spanish international has been in superb for this season scoring eight goals in 15 appearances for his club.

In addition to Barcelona, Arsenal have also been heavily linked with a move for the player during the winter transfer market.

Arsene Wenger has already announced that he would be looking to bring in more than one signing during January.
