Knowing that three points in midweek could see them break into the automatic positions, a high-flying Northampton will make the trip to Brisbane Road on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, watching Port Vale pick up a deserved 1-0 win on the road over the weekend, Leyton Orient find themselves in the midst of yet another worrying rut. Once again looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, Ross Embleton’s men have failed to win any of their last five matchups and have not collected a single League Two victory since the 23rd of November. A huge part of the O’s continued issues since entering the New Year has been their sluggish performances at Brisbane Road. Only managing to snatch a point off of Grimsby in their last appearance on home soil, Tuesday’s hosts have not secured a victory in front of their own fans since the start of October.

As for the visitors, coming off the back of another free-scoring performance in their 4-1 victory over Morecambe last weekend, the mood in Northampton’s camp only continues to soar. Now in the midst of a four-match winning run and knowing that three points could see them climb into the automatic positions, there is no doubt that Head Coach Keith Curle will be most impressed by his side’s recent showings on the road. Including landing a 2-1 win away at play-off outsiders Salford a fortnight ago, Northampton have landed back-to-back victories away from the East Midlands and Tuesday’s guests should be confident of extending their winning run on the road in midweek.
