Norwich City 7/10 to beat Blackburn in Saturday’s Championship contest

Competition: Championship

Market: Norwich City win

Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport

Almost skyrocketing their way to an immediate Premier League return, Norwich will welcome Blackburn to an empty Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, picking up a deserved 2-0 win away at Nottingham Forest in midweek, Norwich have only continued on a Championship romp this season. Despite losing their Premier League status last summer, Daniel Farke’s men already hold a 10-point buffer at the top of the table and they have gained a string of plaudits from across The Championship this year. With the red-hot Teemu Pukki once again getting himself on the scoresheet at The City Ground earlier in the week, Norwich have won each of their last nine second-tier contests on the spin, a run that stems all the way back to February 5th. Still boosted by that eye-catching 1-0 win against fellow promotion contenders Brentford at Carrow Road earlier in the month, The Yellows should be confident of extending on their purple patch this weekend.

As for the visitors, while Blackburn might have managed to pick up a 0-0 stalemate against Bristol City earlier in the week, Tony Mowbray’s men have continued on an extended rut. Sill battling it out in the bottom-half of the table and with it appearing that their 2-0 win against Millwall earlier in the month was just a minor boost, the Lancashire outfit have recorded just a single win in their last 11 Championship matchups, a run that stems back to the end of January. Facing a stern test when they visit the runaway leaders this weekend, it should also be noted that Blackburn hold a woeful record against Saturday’s hosts. Including a 2-1 defeat when they welcomed Norwich to Ewood Park back in December, Blackburn have lost each of their last three meetings against The Yellows and are winless in each of their last seven contests, losing six of those meetings.
