November 9th: Thursday’s Europa League Double – 12/1 Special, Tips & Predictions

With the likes of Liverpool turning their attention back to Europa League duties on Thursday evening, we certainly have a string of intriguing affairs on the cards.

So, for those of you who are looking to stick on a Thursday evening flutter, we have found a pair of Europa League fixtures that could offer a great return for your bet.

17:45 Toulouse vs Liverpool

Left hugely frustrated last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a last-gasp 1-1 stalemate away at Premier League returners Luton, Liverpool will be excited to turn their attention back to European duties on Thursday evening. Although Jurgen Klopp’s side might have missed out on the chance to book a crucial top-four finish last season, the Reds have their sights set on mounting a real Europa League charge this time around.

Installed as one of the leading contenders this season, the former Borussia Dortmund boss has certainly seen his superstar squad already make a major Europa League statement.

Last seen in Group E action breezing their way to a 5-1 victory against Toulouse at Anfield a fortnight ago, Liverpool will simply be looking to produce a repeat performance on foreign soil.

Winning each of their first three European appearances this season by an aggregate score of 10-2, Klopp’s men will undoubtedly be smelling the chance to lay down another marker in midweek.

While Toulouse might have made real history last season as they secured a European return, Thursday’s hosts find themselves in the midst of a public crisis.

Failing to pick up any kind of momentum last weekend as they slumped to a shock 2-1 defeat at home against Le Havre, Les Violets have now lost each of their previous three appearances across all competitions.

Likewise, along with shipping 10 strikes on that three-match losing run, Carles Novell’s men have also won just a pair of their previous 13 showdowns across all competitions – a run that stems back to August 13th.

17:45 Qarabag vs Bayer Leverkusen

Putting in another stellar performance over the weekend as they secured an action-packed 3-2 victory away at Hoffenheim, Bayer Leverkusen are enjoying what has quickly become a record-breaking romp. Continuing to gain a string of praise from across Europe this season, Xabi Alonso’s high-flying squad will be looking to make another Europa League statement here.

Remarkably mustering 28 points from their first 10 Bundesliga appearances this season and yet to suffer a single domestic defeat, the one-time Liverpool midfielder has also seen his side continue to shine on the European stage.

Last seen in Europa League action breezing their way to a 5-1 romp at home against Qarabag, Leverkusen have won each of their first three Group H showdowns by an aggregate score of 11-2.

Gaining a fearsome reputation for their free-scoring performances in the final third, Alonso will be calling on the red-hot Alejandro Grimaldo to spearhead Leverkusen’s charge here.

Along with notching a brace away at Hoffenheim over the weekend, the former Benfica starlet has bagged five goals in as many appearances.

On the flip side, while Qarabag might still be leading the chase to follow Leverkusen out of Group H this year, Thursday’s hosts will be more than aware that they face another huge challenge here.

Slumping to a 5-1 drumming when they travelled to the BayArena a fortnight ago, the Horsemen also hold what is a downbeat European record at the Azersun Arena.

It should be highlighted, Qarabag have won just three of their last 12 Europa League showdowns in front of their own supporters – a run that stems all the way back to August 2019.
