Ocampos would ‘reject’ Wolves

According to a recent report from AS, Sevilla star Lucas Ocampos will reject a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers if it presents itself this summer.

The argument behind why he would reject the move seems to be the fact that Wolves would not be able to offer him Champions League football, whereas Sevilla very much will after they won the Europa League last week.

Ocampos, ironically enough, was the man who scored the winning goal to help Sevilla beat Wolves in their Europa League quarter-final tie. Nuno Espirito Santo clearly likes what he saw, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be enough to warrant an offer being made.

Sevilla seem to be a side on the rise in European football, and while the same could be said for Wolves, they do have further to go in their journey than their Spanish counterparts.

Wolves should still be able to bring in a few big names over the next few weeks, but Ocampos probably won’t be one of them.
