According to a recent report from Marca, former wonderkid Martin Odegaard has not given up on his desire to become a big success story with Spanish giants Real Madrid. His hope is that he will be able to break into the first team by the time he returns from his two year loan spell with Real Sociedad, which will come to an end in 2021.

This mirrors the same kind of situation that James Rodriguez has found himself in as of late, with the Colombian being able to slowly but surely force his way back into the first team discussion since the summer transfer window closed.

Odegaard was once tipped to be the next big thing in world football and while it didn’t quite work out as he probably would’ve hoped, he is still a player of real name value – and if he can do some interesting bits with Sociedad in the next few seasons, then the sky is the limit for him once again.
