Two sides who will be looking to extend on their Belgium Cup adventure on Christmas Eve, Anderlecht will welcome Kortrijk to Lotto Park.

Starting with the hosts, while Anderlecht might have been left heartbroken to have conceded late away at Club Brugge last weekend, the mood in Vincent Kompany’s camp should still be at a high. Eventually having to settle for a 2-2 draw away at the Champions League outfit, the former Manchester City icon finds his side enjoying an extended seven-match unbeaten run across all formats. With their recent purple patch stemming all the way back to November 7th, the Brussels-based side have also really found their feet un the final third. Including a 5-0 romp against Seraing last month, Kompany’s squad have bagged at least a pair of strikes in each of their previous six appearances. Looking to head into Christmas Day with their spot in the semi-final secured, Anderlecht are rightfully seen as a standout pick here.

As for the visitors, last seen landing what was a deserved 2-0 victory against Seraing, Kortrijk are another Belgium top-flight outfit who are enjoying their own purple patch. Shocking many since opening the 2021 campaign and with some in their camp even dreaming of mounting a stunning charge for the top-four, Head Coach Karim Belhocine has been filled with praise for his side’s continued displays. Winning each of their last three top-flight matchups on the spin, a 2-0 defeat against Club Brugge is in fact De Kerels’ only defeat since way back on August 29th. Likewise, Thursday’s guests will also be boosted by a shock record against their midweek opponents. Taking four points off of Anderlecht when the two sides faced off last season, don’t be surprised to see chances come at both ends here.
