Hoping to build off of what was a rampant display over the weekend, Eintracht Frankfurt will welcome Schalke to an empty Commerzbank-Arena on Wednesday evening.

Starting with the hosts, coming from behind in the most dramatic of fashion to grab a 4-1 win away at a high-flying Hertha Berlin, Eintracht Frankfurt have played themselves into the top half since returning from the break. While back-to-back defeats against Mainz and Bayern Munich in the DFP Pokal may have briefly dampened the mood around the Commerzbank-Arena, there is no doubt that Head Coach Adi Hutter will be hugely excited by leading marksman Andre Silva’s continued purple patch. Bagging a brace away in Berlin on Saturday afternoon, the AC Milan loanee has continued to shine following his return from the enforced break. Even more impressive, the Portugal international has bagged six Bundesliga goals in his seven appearances since making a return to action.

As for the visitors, while Schalke may have managed to snatch a point off of Champions League chasers Bayer Leverkusen over the weekend, David Wagner’s side have endured a woeful back end of the campaign. Now in a battle to keeping their spot in the top half of the Bundesliga table, the former Huddersfield boss has seen his side fail to land a single victory since returning from the enforced break. With that baron run highlighted by a dreadful 3-0 drumming at the hands of Augsburg last month, the Royal Blues have remarkably failed to record a single victory across any competition within 90 minutes since the middle of January. In what should be a lively contest at the Commerzbank-Arena on Wednesday evening, we’re backing over 2.5 goals in midweek.
