Ozil wants number 10 shirt as part of new deal

The Mirror understands that Mesut Ozil wants the Arsenal number ten shirt as part of any potential new deal with the club.

The Germany international has long been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium with negotiations hitting several stumbling blocks.

As well as a vast increase in his £150,000-per-week wage the twenty-nine year old is keen to take Jack Wilshere’s squad number as opposed to the number eleven that he currently wears.

Ozil moved to North London in the summer of 2013 and has since racked up one hundred and sixty-eight appearances in all competitions so far, scoring thirty-three goals while he has helped his side win the FA Cup in three of the past four seasons.

Prior to his switch to the Premier League he spent three years in Spain with Real Madrid while he has also played for Werder Bremen and Schalke in his native Germany.
