Torino have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Daniele Padelli from Udinese for an undisclosed fee.

Padelli made just nine appearances in Serie A for Udinese last season, the most recent of which came in a 5-2 victory over Inter on the final day of the season.

The club have acted swiftly to sign a new shot-stopper, with Jean-Francois Gillet potentially facing a lengthy ban after he was implicated in a match-fixing scandal which is alleged to have taken place during his time at Bari.
Former Italy Under-21 international Padelli began his career with Sampdoria, before enjoying loan spells with the likes of Liverpool, Pisa and Bari.
He joins a Torino side that struggled in the league last season, avoiding relegation by seven points as they finished in 16th position.
Padelli served as second-choice goalkeeper behind Serbia’s Zeljko Brkic at Udinese.
