Handed the chance to open Christmas day back at the top of the Greek Super League, reigning champions PAOK will host Atromitos on Monday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while PAOK may have seen Olympiacos still holding their spot at the top of the Super League, the Europa League outfit are enjoying an eye-catching end to the year. Picking up a 2-0 win over Panionios last week, Abel Ferreira’s men have won their last three matches on the bounce and are yet to taste defeat since opening the new campaign. A huge part of the Black-Whites recent performances have come down to some very impressive displays at the back. Going over 300 minutes without picking the ball out of their own net, Monday’s hosts have also shipped just a single goal in any of their previous six outings.

As for the visitors, while Atromitos may have managed to snatch a point off of Lamia last week and still looking to secure a route into the top-six, they have continued to show some worrying issues on the road. Losing three of their last four matches outside of Athens, Savvas Pantelidis’ men will also be concerned by their most recent meetings against the defending champions. Hit with back-to-back defeats against PAOK when they faced off last season, Atromitos were also hit with a thumping 3-0 defeat the last time they made the trip to the Stadio Toumbas back in March.
