Corinthians midfielder Paulinho has hinted that he would be interested in a move to Inter in the close-season.
The 24-year-old claimed it would be an honour to follow in the footsteps of previous fellow Brazil internationals in turning out for the San Siro outfit.
Inter endured a dreadful 2012-13 camapign, finishing ninth in Serie A with a club record number of defeats in a 20-team league, but Paulinho believes that will only serve as motivation to succeed next term.
He told La Gazetta dello Sport: “Inter are a club well known all over the world. This is where Ronaldo and players such as Julio Cesar, Lucio and Maicon played. Who would not want to wear the Inter Jersey?
“It’s not a problem that they didn’t win any trophies. They will be gunning for revenge. We are talking about a club that won it all just a few years ago.
“If Inter want me they will have to make a good offer for me. I’m feeling good in Brazil and I’m happy at Corinthians. The conditions will have to be right if I were to leave.”
If a deal is to be struck, it is likely Inter would have to activate Paulinho’s buy-out clause, which is believed to be around 20 million euros, with two years still left on his contract.
