Pellegrini insists that Aguero isn’t for sale

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has dismissed reports suggesting that the club could sell top scorer Sergio Aguero in the summer, according to the Mirror.

The former Atletico Madrid man who, despite struggling with injury in spells, has managed fifteen Premier League goals for the title challengers, has been linked with a return to Spain with both Barcelona and Real Madrid monitoring his progress.

However, his manager has insisted that the striker is simply not for sale.

City’s dreams of a securing a historic quadruple were ended at the weekend as Wigan Athletic, who beat them in last season’s FA Cup final, knocked them out at the quarter finals stage of the same competition.

Having already won the Capital One Cup, they sit nine points behind Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title, and must overturn a two-goal deficit in their last sixteen tie with Barcelona if they are to progress in the Champions League.
