Pellegrini keen to keep hold of Kolarov

Manchester City are set to reject approaches from two Serie A sides for defender Aleksander Kolarov, according to the Daily Star.

Juventus are interested in reuniting the Serbian international with former teammate Carlos Tevez, who moved to Turin last month, while Inter Milan are also lining up a bid.

The 27 year old has started just forty Premier League games since signing from Lazio three years ago, though new manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to retain his services for the forthcoming campaign.

Last season’s Premier League runners up have already shifted around £37m off of their yearly wage bill this summer following the departures of Tevez, Kolo Toure, Wayne Bridge and Roque Santa Cruz.

Brazilian right back Maicon is also close to securing a move away from the club, with Roma set to complete a deal for the 31 year old subject to a medical.

The former Inter man made just nine league appearances in his one and only season at the Etihad Stadium.
