Permanent Gomes move unlikely

According to Liverpool Echo, Barcelona will not discuss the possibility of Andre Gomes making his loan move to Everton a permanent deal. Gomes joined on a season long loan a few months back, and while he has done well since arriving at Goodison Park, he’s still likely to make his return to the Nou Camp in time for next season. Barca weren’t interested in a permanent deal, with Marco Silva also revealing that Chelsea didn’t want to consider selling Kurt Zouma – who is also on loan.

Many will suggest that Everton should be happy enough with Gomes being there on loan, but at the end of the campaign, there’s always the chance that Barca could wind up changing their mind based on whether or not they have a strong season with the squad they’ve got.

The 25 year old put in a strong performance yesterday during Everton’s entertaining draw against Chelsea.
