According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is close to taking over as Newcastle United manager from Steve Bruce.
The reports of an impending takeover continue to hang over Tyneside, as many fans don’t really know what’s going to happen next in the club’s immediate future. Pochettino has been out of a job since he was dismissed from his role in North London, with many believing that he could be the key to Newcastle becoming real contenders in the Premier League once again.
It’s going to take a few years for them to get there, or so you’d think, but bringing Pochettino into the mix is going to be such a huge sign of their intentions.
Now, it’s just a case of getting it over the finish line, and also a case of figuring out how much longer they want to keep Steve Bruce in the job.
