Paul Pogba has enjoyed his first season at Juventus and intends to stay at the Serie A champions despite being linked with a move away.

The France international arrived in Turin in July 2012 on a free transfer after his contract at Manchester United expired, and he immediately provided a different option in midfield alongside Andrea Pirlo.

With Pirlo coming towards the end of his career, a lot is expected of the energetic Pogba to eventually fill the void left by the Italian, and with the support of Arturo Vidal he could form one of the strongest central midfield partnerships in Europe.

Pogba impressed during his debut season in Italy as Juventus secured the league title, making 35 appearances and scoring five goals.

His performances for Antonio Conte’s side earned him his first international call-up and also attracted attention from abroad with Manchester City reported to be keen to take the 20-year-old back to England, but Pogba is happy in Italy.

“I will still be at Juventus next season. My future lies at this club,” he said.

“It has been a good season for me.

I am feeling very well in Turin, I’m happy at Juve and I am happy to wear this shirt.”
