Two sides making their return from March’s international break, Manchester United will welcome Leicester to Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

Manchester United

Starting with the hosts, last seen back on March 15th when crashing out of the Champions League against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, it is fair to say that Manchester United are in the midst of another struggle. While Ralf Rangnick’s men might have managed to snatch an action-packed 3-2 win against Tottenham last month, that result appears to have been just a minor boost for the former RB Leipzig boss. Knowing that they’re now in an uphill battle to clinch a much-needed top-four finish this season, fans around Old Trafford are clearly growing more frustrated. Along with suffering a shock FA Cup defeat at the hands of Championship outfit Middlesbrough back on February 4th, United mark their return from the international break having won just one of their last five outings. Suffering a 4-2 hammering when they made the trip to the King Power back in October, Rangnick will know that his side should face a stern test here.

Team News

Bagging a brace against North Macedonia earlier in the week and sending Portugal to this year’s World Cup finals, Bruno Fernandes looks set to start here.

Despite not featuring for United since the end of February, Luke Shaw could start at left-back after impressing while away with England.

Leicester

As for the visitors, managing to head into March’s international break with a much-needed 2-1 victory at home against Brentford, there is no doubt that Leicester will be desperate to build off of that result. Marking their return to action just about hanging onto their spot in the top-half, Brendan Rodgers’ men almost find themselves sat in Premier League limbo. However, extending on their Europa Conference League with a 3-2 aggregate win against French outfit Rennes, the former Liverpool boss should be boosted by a shock record against Saturday’s hosts. Storming their way to that action-packed 4-2 win when they welcomed United to the King Power back in October, the Foxes have remarkably won each of their last three meetings against the top-four contenders. Winning five of their previous seven matchups across all formats ahead of their trip to Old Trafford here, Leicester could be smelling the chance to spring an upset.

Team News

While both Jamie Vardy and Marc Albrighton might be nearing a return, it remains to be seen if either will feature at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

However, featuring for Northern Ireland earlier in the week, former Manchester United defender Johnny Evans looks set to start here.

Key Factors to Consider

    • When the two sides last faced off back in October, Leicester picked up a 4-2 victory at the King Power.
    • The Foxes have won each of their last three meetings against Saturday’s hosts across all formats.
    • Each of the last four meetings between Manchester United and Leicester have finished with both teams finding the net.
    • Likewise, five of their previous seven meetings at Old Trafford have also finished with both teams finding the net.

    Conclusion

Last seen crashing out of the Champions League against Atletico Madrid, Manchester United mark their return to action seeking some stability. Now in an uphill battle to clinch a top-four finish this season, Saturday’s hosts could be in for another tough test at Old Trafford here. Hit with a lively 4-2 defeat when they made the trip to the King Power back in October, Rangnick’s men do hold a worrying record against the Foxes. Losing each of their last three meetings against Leicester, neutrals will be hoping for an enjoyable affair here. It should be noted, with each of the last four meetings between Saturday’s opponents finishing with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome in Manchester.

    Verdict: Both teams to score
