Prediction: Norwich City vs Wolves

Verdict: Wolves win and both teams to score

Best Odds: 11/4

Bookmaker: Bet365

Desperate to build off of their performance last weekend and close the buffer on the drop zone, Norwich will welcome Wolves to Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.

Norwich City

Starting with the hosts, while Norwich may have seen their winless run extended to four matches last weekend, Daniel Frake’s men did pick up a very impressive point away at title outsiders Leicester. While they may have once again caught the eye at the King Power last time out, the former Borussia Dortmund coach has seen his side record just a single victory in any of their previous 12 Premier League outings, losing eight of those appearances. Opening the weekend down in 19th and chasing a three-point deficit for top-flight safety, fans around Carrow Road will undoubtedly be most concerned by their side’s continued problems at the back. Despite leading marksman Teemu Pukki reigniting his goalscoring touch to grab three Premier League strikes in his last four matchups, the Yellows have recorded just a pair of clean sheets since making their top-flight return and Norwich have also shipped at least a pair of goals in each of their last seven matches on home soil.

Team News

Despite it being confirmed that Teemu Pukki suffered a fractured toe last weekend, it is believed that Norwich’s leading goalscorer will feature on Saturday.

Wolves

As for the visitors, while Wolves may have watched Tottenham snatch an extremely flattering 2-1 win in the Midlands last weekend, the mood in Nuno Espírito Santo’s camp should still be at a high. With their defeat at Molineux last time out just their first defeat in their previous 10 matchups, a run that stems back to the 30th of October, they also managed to secure a spot in the knockout stage of this year’s Europa League with a thumping 4-0 win over Turkish outfit Beşiktaş last week. Although Wolves might be continuing to shine in the final third, there is no doubt that Santo will be concerned by his side’s inconsistencies at the back. Much like Norwich, the Oranges have recorded just one clean sheet in their last nine top-flight appearances. While Saturday’s hosts might have one leading marksman enjoying a purple patch, Wolves have their own attacking star continuing to spearhead their charge. Bagging a maiden European hat-trick last week, winger Diego Jota has scored five goals in his last three matches across all competitions.

Team News

Willy Boly and Morgan Gibbs-White the only players sidelined through injury for Wolves this weekend.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Norwich have won just one of their last 12 Premier League appearances.
  • The Yellows have also shipped over 1.5 goals in each of their last seven top-flight matches on the bounce at Carrow Road.
  • However, leading marksman Teemu Pukki has bagged three goals in his last four appearances.
  • Wolves have lost just one of their last 10 matches across all competitions.
  • The Oranges have seen eight of their nine Premier League matches end with both teams finding the net.

Conclusion

While Wolves might have seen Tottenham grab an undeserved victory last weekend and bring an abrupt end to their unbeaten run, Saturday’s guests should see their trip to East Anglia as a golden chance to bounce back this weekend. With Norwich continuing to show some glaring issues, particularly at Carrow Road, we’re backing Nuno Espírito Santo’s men to pick up all three points on the road.

Verdict: Wolves win and both teams to score

Best Odds: 11/4
