Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are set to battle for the services of West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian, according to the Mirror.

The Spaniard has moved down the pecking order at the Olympic Stadium following the arrival of Manchester City shot-stopper Joe Hart, who signed on a season long loan earlier this week.

The thirty year old made just sixteen Premier League appearances last season, with Darren Randolph starting the majority of the Hammers’ games.

Adrian, who extended his contract by a further two years towards the end of the last campaign, signed for West Ham from Real Betis in the summer of 2013 and has since played one hundred and twenty-three times in all competitions.

Internationally, he was called up to the Spain squad for the first time last August for games against Belgium and Liechtenstein but is yet to make his debut while he made one appearance for Andalusia back in 2013.
