PSG aim for Messi talks

According to a recent report from Marca, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in extending the contract of Lionel Messi.

While he hasn’t exactly set the world on fire since arriving in French football, the appeal of having Lionel Messi play for your club isn’t lost on anyone. The veteran Argentine has been one of the two best players in world football for years now and even though his stint with Barcelona was more notable, because of course it was, he can still produce moments of magic.

The belief is that the Ligue 1 champions want to extend Messi’s contract by an extra year to ensure he remains on the books until summer 2024, at which point he will be 37 years old.

At that point he may decide to move on but either way, we get the feeling a return to the Nou Camp or even a stint in Major League Soccer could easily be on the cards.
