Race hots up for Daniel Wass

Spanish heavyweights Valencia are hoping to land a summer move for Celta Vigo midfielder Daniel Wass.

Los Che are the latest in line of clubs to express interest in the 28-yesar-old Danish international who has just over a year in his contract with the Estadio Balaidos side.

With his deal at Celta Vigo expiring, Wass could be available for a cut-price worth £4 million and a couple of clubs – including Crystal Palace, Swansea and Leicester City – are also believed to be in the running for his signature.

Wass has been with Celta Vigo since 2015 and is widely tipped to change surroundings and make a step upwards in his career.

He made 125 appearances in La Liga and could reject an approach from Valencia in favour of a Premier League move, it is suggested.

Spanish outlet Marca reports, however, that Valencia are confident they will be able to beat the competition land Wass in a value deal at the end of the current campaign.
