Raheem Sterling misses open goal from close range as Manchester City bow out of the Champions League to Olympique Lyon (Video)

Manchester City were knocked out in the Champions League quarterfinals on for the third season in a row as they lost to Olympique Lyon by 3-1. Maxwell Cornet opened the scoring for the Ligue 1 side in the 24th minute, with Kevin De Bruyne setting the score level in the 69th.

City then attacked with all their might, seeking to turn the game around completely, but it expectedly left them exposed to counterattacking threats which Lyon used well.

Moussa Dembele came of the bench and scored his team’s second in the 79th minute, and Raheem Sterling missed an unbelievable chance to equalize again less than 60 seconds before Dembele scored for Lyon again in the 87th.
