Ranieri given ultimatum by Roma

Claudio Ranieri has been given four games to save his job, with Leonardo reportedly ready to take over from the Italian if he proves unsuccessful.

Claudio Ranieri found himself in a precarious position following the home defeat to Basel, Roma’s 6th in 11 matches and he’s been given the ultimatum by the Roma board.

The boss has four matches and just short of 20 days to make the team play to their potential or he will be sacked. These include Serie A games with Parma, Lazio and Lecce, as well as the Champions League match against Basel.

Should he fail to do so, the Roma chiefs have reportedly singled out former Milan coach Leonardo to take over from Ranieri.

Frank Rijkaard and Guus Hiddink are also in the mix but the Brazilian remains the number 1 candidate.
