Opening up this weekend’s Bundesliga fixtures on Friday night, RB Leipzig will welcome a struggling Augsburg to the Red Bull Arena this week.

Starting with the hosts, after getting hit with that stunning 3-2 defeat away at Mainz last month, there is no doubt that RB Leipzig have managed to bounce back in an eye-catching fashion. Last seen putting in a professional display on their travels, Die Roten Bullen landed a 3-0 romp away at a rock-bottom Schalke and the mood in their camp should once again be at a high. With a Champions League knockout tie against Premier League giants Liverpool fast approaching, Julian Nagelsmann’s men will be desperate to keep up their recent momentum on Friday night. Now winning each of their last three Bundesliga matchups on the bounce, it should also be noted that Leipzig have recorded a clean sheet in each of their outings since that shock defeat at the hands of Mainz last month.

As for the visitors, while Augsburg might have managed to pick up a much-needed victory against Union Berlin last month, it appears that was just a minor bounce for Heiko Herrlich’s side. Continuing to freefall down the Bundesliga table, the former Bayer Leverkusen boss saw his side put in another sluggish display last weekend. Eventually getting hit with a 2-0 loss against a high-flying Wolfsburg, Fuggerstädter have remarkably managed to collect just three points from their last six Bundesliga contests, a run that stems all the way back to January 2nd. With that run highlighted by a 4-1 drumming at the hands of top-flight returners Stuttgart last month, Augsburg certainly face a stern test on the road this weekend. Hit with a 3-0 defeat when they faced off against Leipzig in the reverse fixture back in December, we’re backing a similar outcome on Friday.
