Real and Inter to battle for Bayern midfield maestro

After being unsuccessful in their efforts to sign Bastian Schweinsteiger last summer, Real Madrid and Inter are planning another assault on the German international.

Jose Mourinho had singled out the Bayern playmaker as his number one target upon his arrival to Santiago Bernabeu, but he failed to reach a deal with Bayern and instead brought Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil to Real.

Nonetheless, the Portuguese still hasn’t given up on Schweinsteiger as he believes the player will come a lot cheaper next summer since his contract expires in June 2012.

The player has a €55 million buy-out clause in his contract and Bayern wouldn’t settle for anything less last summer but the Bavarians will be forced to sell their prized asset next summer or risk losing him for free just one year later.

Jose Murinho is aware of that he will try to take advantage of the situation, but he face a stiff competition from Inter even though the player himself hinted he could move to Real after saying white was his favourite colour.
