With a chance to make it back-to-back wins this week, Real Betis will welcome a struggling Getafe to the Estadio Benito Villamarín on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, making an immediate return to winning ways last weekend, Real Betis have a European return at the top of their agenda this year. Despite that dramatic 3-2 defeat at the hands of Barcelona back on February 7th, Los Verdiblancos have largely impressed since bringing in former West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini. Putting in another eye-catching display last week and grabbing a 2-1 victory away at Europa League outfit Villarreal, the Green and Whites have lost just one of their seven La Liga contests since opening the New Year. Hoping to fully put their dramatic Copa del Rey defeat against Atheltic Bilbao behind them, there is no doubt that Friday’s hosts should be smelling a golden chance to pick their first victory over this weekend’s guests since 2018.

As for the visitors, hit with a 1-0 loss at home against an inconsistent Real Sociedad last weekend and coming under more scrutiny, Getafe find themselves in the midst of a real struggle. Despite opening the 2020/2021 campaign with another European finish at the top of their agenda, the Blues have only freefallen their way down the La Liga table. Along with losing each of their last three top-flight contests on the spin, the Madrid-based outfit have also managed to muster just a single point in any of their last five appearances. Facing a tough trip the Estadio Benito Villamarín on Friday night, Head Coach José Bordalás will also have a real headache over his side’s extended issues in the final third. Once again drawing a blank against Sociedad last time out, Getafe have now gone almost 500 minutes without finding the net.
