Looking to keep up the party atmosphere around the Bernabéu, a high-flying Real Madrid will host Real Sociedad with a semi-final spot in this year’s Copa del Rey up for grabs.

Starting with the hosts, picking up a 1-0 win and local bragging rights over Atletico Madrid last weekend, Real Madrid have continued on what has been a glittering purple patch. Already lifting the Super Cup and the mood in their camp on the rise, Los Blancos hold a three-point buffer at the top of the La Liga standings and are in the midst of a five-match winning run. Along with continuing to catch the eye with their showings at the back, Head Coach Zinedine Zidane will be most excited by the ongoing success of leading marksman, Karim Benzema. Bagging the winner against Madrid’s crosstown rivals on Saturday, the Frenchman has found the net in back-to-back matchups and already has 18 goals to his name so far this season.

As for the visitors, putting in another worrying display and hit with a 2-1 defeat away at relegation scrappers Leganes last weekend, Real Sociedad have struggled to find their best form since opening the New Year. Slipping out of the European spots after losing three of their last four La Liga appearances, Imanol Alguacil’s men have also continued to show some worrying issues on the road. Including a 3-0 hammering away at Real Betis last month, Sociedad also shipped another trio of strikes away at Osasuna prior to the festive break. Hit with another 3-0 defeat when they faced off against Thursday’s hosts earlier in the season, we’re backing another comfortable night for Zidane’s side.
