Real Madrid drop Haaland push?

According to a recent report from Sport, Real Madrid are abandoning plans to try and sign Erling Haaland in 2024.

The report indicates that, with all of the talk going on regarding their pursuit of Endrick, they won’t be putting their energy into going after Haaland – despite the fact that he does have a release clause.

Haaland has been tearing up the Premier League prior to the start of the World Cup and, moving forward, we fully expect to see him do the same thing as we approach the resumption of domestic football.

While Real may see more of a future in someone like Endrick, it still feels hard to believe that they’d put their interest in Haaland to one side – at least permanently.

The Norwegian is perhaps the most complete example of the perfect footballer, or the perfect centre forward.

Manchester City won’t let him go without a fight, but this feels more like a chess move than anything else.
