According to a recent report from El Nacional, Real Madrid have set a benchmark for Marco Asensio’s potential departure.
The belief right now is that Asensio is ready and willing to move on to pastures new after being unable to cement his position as a regular starter under new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
The 26-year-old has been at the club since 2014 and in that time, he’s had his ups and downs, although a lot of Madrid supporters have appreciated the work ethic he’s put in during that time.
If he is going to leave, though, then the club going after him will need to pay at least £25 million – with that being the fee proposed by Real.
Asensio still believes, clearly, that he has a lot to give at the elite level, and it’ll be intriguing to see how his situation develops.
Madrid are heading in a positive direction whereas Asensio is taking steps to ensure his own future is fruitful.
