According to a recent report from Marca, Real Madrid are contemplating the possibility of releasing Welsh star Gareth Bale during the summer transfer window.
Fans and pundits alike have long since wondered when the relationship between the two parties would inevitably break down, with there being a multitude of warning signs in the last few years that things haven’t been going so well.
Bale has hinted at leaving and Real have hinted at letting him go, but the stars never seem to have aligned for that to happen. As we look ahead to an uncertain future, it appears as if the time away from football has given Madrid time to reflect.
If they do release Bale, we can just about guarantee that there will be no shortage of clubs knocking down their door in an attempt to bring in the former Tottenham Hotspur star.
For now, though, the speculation will continue.
