Redknapp keen on Kranjcar stay

Harry Redknapp is keen on securing the services of Nico Kranjcar on a permanent basis following an impressive start to his loan spell at Lofus Road, the Mirror understands.

The 29 year old, who is playing under Redknapp for a third time having also sent time under his stewardship at Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth.

He switched to the Championship club on transfer deadline day following a difficult twelve months in Ukraine with Dynamo Kyiv, and has featured in victories against Yeovil Town, Middlesbrough and Barnsley.

The midfielder is line to win his eightieth international cap on Friday evening in the World Cup qualifier against Belgium, where victory would still leave them with a chance of qualifying automatically for next summer’s tournament in Brazil.

You can back Kranjcar at 4/1 to get on the score-sheet at any time at the Stadion Maksimir, as he did when the sides met in a friendly back in March 2010 where he grabbed the only goal of the game.
