Looking to cash in on what has been a real purple patch, a resurging Roma will make the trip to an empty Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Torino might have managed to make some much-needed alterations on home soil, the Bulls have continued on what has been a dreadful campaign. Throwing away the lead and having to settle for a point away at relegation scrappers SPAL over the weekend, Moreno Longo’s men have managed to pick up just a pair of Serie A victories since making a return from the enforced break. With a growing reputation for their issues at the back and remarkably landing just a pair of clean sheets since the start of January, Torino find themselves almost stuck in limbo after managing to hold onto their top-flight status this summer. With real speculation as to what is going on behind the scenes at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, La Granata have also lost back-to-back meetings against Roma on home soil and could be in for another overwhelming test in midweek.

As for the visitors, while Torino might be a side in desperate need of a bounce, Roma have continued to impress during the back end of the campaign. Picking up a 2-1 victory against Fiorentina over the weekend and playing themselves back into pole position to secure another top-six finish, the Europa League outfit have now collected 16 points over their past six Serie A appearances. Starting to shine in the final third and their most recent purple patch highlighted by a thumping 6-1 romp away at SPAL last week, Head Coach Paulo Fonseca has also seen his side land back-to-back victories on the road, scoring a staggering nine goals and conceding just one in return. If Roma are to move one step closer to another top-six finish, then they could be calling on Jordan Veretout to lead their charge in midweek. Bagging a brace against the Purples last time out, the 27-year-old has landed four post-lockdown goals in his last five starts.
