Roma step up Lovren chase

According to a recent report from Sky Italy, Roma are continuing to pursue a move for Dejan Lovren and have even proposed a season-long loan deal for the Croatian. The deal would work under an appearance-based option to buy structure, which could be the kind of clause that would intrigue Liverpool. Lovren, who has never been shy when it comes to complimenting his own work, has fallen out of favour with the Reds due to their many high profile defensive options at centre back.

AC Milan were also believed to be interested at one stage, but at this moment in time, Roma are in pole position to secure his signature.

They’ve got a few weeks left to try and get the deal over the finish line, too, as the Serie A transfer window isn’t scheduled to close until September 2nd.

Either way, Liverpool appear to be very eager to move ahead with this.
