Roma still want Alderweireld

According to a recent report from Sky Italy, Serie A giants Roma are not giving up on the possible signing of Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld. The 30 year old has been heavily linked with a move away from North London as far back as the January transfer window, but up to this point, nothing had come of it. No substantial offers have been made up to this point, with his £25 million release clause expiring last Thursday. He only has one year left on his current deal and there’s said to be a great deal of uncertainty over his future, with some fans believing that he is just waiting it out before securing a move to another big European club.

The Belgian star clearly loves playing for Spurs and has built a life for himself over in England across the last few years, but if he’s going to take that next step forward in his career, then he may need to think about the Roma move.
