According to a recent report from Corriere dello Sport, Serie A side Roma are set to step up their chase of defender Daniele Rugani from Juventus in the wake of their first league game of the season. Roma are not considered to be one of the leading contenders for the title season, with their primary ambition in the league likely being to secure a spot in the Champions League for next season once again.
Roma have been fluctuating up and down for years now in terms of quality, never really ascending to the heights set by the likes of Juventus. If they want to do so then there’s a good chance they’ll have to be a little bit more ruthless with their dealings in the transfer market, but as goes without saying, that’s going to be easier said than done.
Signing the likes of Rugani would be a real strong statement of intent from them.
