Romero set to leave Manchester United

According to a recent report from the Mirror, Manchester United are pushing ahead with their plans to sell Sergio Romero.

The belief is that the back-up goalkeeper will depart Old Trafford during the January transfer window, with many wondering why he didn’t go during the summer. Romero hasn’t been able to work his way into the first team so far this season which, in truth, always did seem likely when you consider the fact that David de Gea and Dean Henderson are both ahead of him on the pecking order.

Romero is a veteran in this game but that experience shouldn’t by any means be mistaken for weakness. He is the kind of player that knows exactly what he is worth, and when you think of it like that, it should come as no surprise that he isn’t willing to just sit on the bench and collect a paycheck every single week.
