Rooney rules out PL loan return

During an interview with Sky Sports, DC United‘s newest striker Wayne Rooney has stated that he’s not interested in returning to the Premier League on a loan deal. The 32-year-old’s switch to Major League Soccer had been heavily rumoured for weeks prior to it getting the green light, and now, it seems as if he’s focusing all of his attention on helping DC become the Champions of America.

Rooney made the move from boyhood club Everton, and outside of a brief return to Manchester United, there don’t seem to be too many options on the table for him regarding a loan spell in the top flight. The MLS season is in full flow with DC United currently sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with just ten points, and with only a few months remaining until the playoffs get underway, it seems like the focus will soon shift to the 2019 campaign.
