Roque Santa Cruz joins Betis

Real Betis have signed Paraguayan striker Roque Santa Cruz on a one-year loan from Manchester City.

The Spanish giants have just returned to the elite division of Spanish football and they have successfully ended their search for the new striker.

Real Betis have announced the capture of Roque Santa Cruz on their official website.

“Real Betis continue to strengthen their first-team squad for the coming season with only a few days to go before the end of the transfer market,” read a statement on Betis’ official website.

“After intensive negotiations, the club have been able to close the signing of Roque Santa Cruz, who will play the coming season on loan at Betis.

“A Paraguayan international, Santa Cruz arrives from Manchester City, one of the best teams in England in recent years.”

The 30-year-old spent last season loan at Blackburn, but failed to make an impact at Ewood Park after struggling with injuries throughout the season.
