Sane set for new Manchester City deal

Manchester Evening News understand that Leroy Sane is to be offered a new contract at Manchester City.

The Germany international has been in superb form for Pep Guardiola’s side this season, scoring eight goals in nineteen appearances in all competitions.

He is also second in the Premier League assists table, joint with teammate Kevin De Bruyne while the only player to register more so far this season is fellow Citizen David Silva.

Guardiola is set to secure the futures of De Bruyne, Silva and Fernandinho before beginning negotiations with Sane, who is likely to see his wages rise from £60,000-per-week to £80,000-per-week.

Having impressed for Germany’s U19s and U21s, Sane has now won nine caps for the senior side with his last appearance coming in the 0-0 friendly draw with England at Wembley earlier this month.

Manchester City host Southampton on Wednesday evening with Sane priced at 5/1 to open the scoring.
