Siena boss Giuseppe Sannino is hopeful his side’s dream Coppa Italia run continues at Napoli on Wednesday.

Siena – who have never won a major trophy in their 108-year history – head into the semi final second leg at the Stadio San Paolo, holding a 2-1 lead.

If they progress in Napoli, a meeting with AC Milan or Juventus awaits Sannino’s men in what would be one of the club’s biggest matches in their history.

“We’ll give it a good go,” Sannino said.

“I really would like this to be a fairytale – no matter if we win or lose, it will remain a fairytale for us – but we would really like it not to end it here, we know it’s difficult but we’ll try.”

“We will be playing in a semi-final and we would like to put on a great show in front of a sell-out crowd in Naples, but we would also like to create some problems to a team that has just been knocked out of the Champions League.”

“We have a small advantage because we won the first leg 2-1, now we have to play the second leg and try to get the win.”

Siena are 15th in Serie A this season, 11 places below Wednesday’s opponent Napoli.
