Santos reject Chelsea bid for Neymar

Brazilian outfit Santos said on Tuesday that they have rejected a bid from English Premier League giants Chelsea for highly-rated teenage forward Neymar.

“Santos FC declare they have received … an official proposal from Chelsea FC of England for the economic rights of forward Neymar,” the club said in a statement.

But the statement “reiterates that Santos FC have no interest in opening negotiations”.

Media reports claimed Chelsea had made a 20-million-euro bid for the 18-year-old, who has netted 27 goals in all competitions since the turn of the year.
