Saturday’s Football Accumulator: 10/1 Special & Betting Tips – December 21st

Now in the midst of a frantic winter schedule, we have a stacked Saturday from across the continent.

Alongside five Premier League showdowns, we also have some eye-catching affairs from the likes of La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga.

Ahead of a mouth-watering day of European action, we have scoured the continent for some of Saturday’s most appealing betting tips.

Saturday, December 21st

BST 12:30 Bristol Rovers vs Wrexham

Although Wrexham might have suffered late heartbreak at home against Cambridge last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 2-2 stalemate, Saturday’s guests are enjoying a public fairytale.

While Phil Parkinson’s men might have only made their League One return this season, the former Bolton boss finds his squad battling it out at the top of the table and pencilled in as a leading promotion contender once again.

Extending on their EFL Trophy adventure earlier in the month as they clinched a 1-0 victory against Crewe, Wrexham will be smelling a golden opportunity here.

Opening December with a 1-0 win against Barnsley, Parkinson’s camp have collected 13 points from their previous five League One appearances. Likewise, last seen on their travels claiming a 1-0 victory against Burton, Wrexham will be relishing a trip to the Memorial Stadium this weekend.

While Bristol Rovers might have just about dragged themselves over the finishing line last season, Saturday’s hosts have a real battle on their hands this time around.

Sat holding just a two-point buffer from slipping into the relegation zone, the Pirates should be bracing themselves for what will certainly be a real challenge here.

Last seen falling to a routine 2-0 defeat against Birmingham, interim boss Lee Cattermole has seen his squad lose each of their previous three League One appearances by an aggregate score of 7-0.

It should also be highlighted, Bristol Rovers have failed to record a single League One victory at the Memorial Stadium since back on October 22nd.

Betting Tip: Wrexham win @ 19/20

17:30 Bayer Leverkusen vs Freiburg

While Bayer Leverkusen might have struggled to find any kind of stability prior to November’s international break, Xabi Alonso’s men have certainly turned a real corner over the past month.

Last seen putting in another routine display as they clinched a 2-0 victory away at Augsburg, Saturday’s hosts have skyrocketed themselves back into the title picture.

With their sights set on defending their Bundesliga crown in 2025, the one-time Liverpool midfielder has seen his squad win each of their previous seven appearances across all competitions.

Collecting a heavyweight Champions League scalp earlier in the month as they secured a 1-0 win against Italian giants Inter Milan, Leverkusen will also be excited by their success on home soil.

In fact, Alonso’s defending champions have won each of their last four showdowns at the BayArena by an aggregate score of 13-3.

Claiming what was an action-packed 3-2 win against Wolfsburg last weekend, Freiburg will be desperate to use that performance as a platform to build on.

However, watching their DFP Pokal adventure come to an end on December 3rd as they fell to a 3-1 loss against Bielefeld, Saturday’s guests have won just a pair of their last seven domestic appearances across all competitions.

Despite opening Saturday’s showdown sat within touching distance of the Champions League spots, Julian Schuster’s side are pencilled in as a major underdog here.

Suffering a 2-1 defeat when they travelled to the BayArena last season, Freiburg couldn’t have asked for a tougher challenge on their travels.

Betting Tip: Florian Wirtz to score anytime @ 2/1

20:00 Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid

While Barcelona might have come flying out of the traps following Hansi Flick’s arrival in Catalonia over the summer, the Spanish giants have struggled to find any recent stability.

Suffering an infamous 1-0 defeat at home against Leganes last weekend, Saturday’s hosts also missed out on a golden opportunity to widen their buffer at the top of the La Liga table.

Signing off November with another worrying display as they fell to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Las Palmas, the former Bayern Munich boss has seen his squad muster just a single victory from any of their previous six domestic appearances.

Likewise, suffering back-to-back La Liga defeats at the Nou Camp, Barcelona have also gained an unwanted reputation for their defensive issues. In fact, Flick’s side have recorded just a sole clean sheet across any competition since the end of October.

While Atletico Madrid might arrive in Catalonia pencilled in as a landslide underdog, Saturday’s guests are in the midst of what has become a sensational purple patch.

Last seen claiming a 1-0 victory at home against local rivals Getafe, Diego Simeone’s men are riding what has become a remarkable wave of momentum on either side of November’s international break.

Including a 2-1 win away at French heavyweights PSG last month, Atletico have won each of their previous 11 straight appearances across all formats.

With just their goal difference keeping them behind Barcelona and top spot in the La Liga table, Simeone’s side will be confident of making a famous statement here.
