Schmeichel set for Nice switch

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Kasper Schmeichel will undergo a medical with Nice in the next few days.

The Danish star is set to sign for the Ligue 1 club after an agreement was reached between them and Leicester, with Brendan Rodgers noting that they would allow him to move on if the right destination was found.

Schmeichel has spent many years now as Leicester City’s number one and you’d have to imagine he spent a long time thinking about the consequences of this choice and where it takes him in his career. He played a big role in their Premier League and FA Cup success stories but after 11 years and over 400 appearances in a Foxes shirt, he’s ready to see what else is out there.

The 35-year-old likely has a few years left at the top of his game and with four Leicester trophies ti his name, it’s hard for him not to be seen as a legend of the club.
