Schuurs rules out Ajax departure

Perr Schuurs has ruled out any possibility of leaving Ajax in the near future, as relayed by Sky Sports.

The centre-back has been heavily linked with Liverpool, and several other clubs have been said to be monitoring his performances with a view of a potential future transfer. It seems Liverpool are currently being singled out here purely because they’ve lost two players in that position – Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez – to injury for the rest of the season and many believe the Premier League champions are planning to boost that segment in January. Some reports, on the other hand, claim that’s not the case.

Be that as it may, Schuurs confirmed he had heard these rumours but dismissed any possibility of a move. Speaking to Ziggo Sport, he pointed out that this is his first season as a first-team regular at Ajax and made it clear that he wants to play for the Dutch club a few more years before thinking about moving elsewhere.
