AC Milan moved three points clear at the top of the Serie A standings with a 3-0 win over Brescia at the San Siro on Saturday.

Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng opened the scoring for Milan after just four minutes before Brazil attacker Robinho doubled their advantage on 28 minutes when he fired a left-shoot shot past Matteo Sereni in the Brescia goal.

Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic sealed the result two minutes later when he blasted a shot into the top corner.

The win moved Milan to 33 points from their 15 games – three clear of second-placed Lazio – while Brescia slumped to 18th position, inside the relegation zone.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Roma squandered a two-goal lead in their away clash with Verona in dreadful conditions at the Stadio Marc Antonio Bentegodi.

Fabio Simplicio scored twice in the first half to have Roma sitting comfortably at the interval on a pitch which resembled a mud pit in places.

Davide Moscardelli pulled a goal back for the hosts on 61 minutes before Pablo Granoches levelled the game seven minutes from the end.

Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi was sent off moments later after venting his frustration.

The draw kept Roma in seventh place in the standings, while Chievo climbed to ninth position.
